H.264 DVR
|
|
A H.264 DVR uses H.264 compression which currently has the best resolution for both recording and viewing survielance footage. There are three types of compression technologies in use on DVRs today, MPEG-4, MJPG, and H.264. Only H.264 compression uses the hardware to create the video; because of this, H.264 DVRs record smoother video. MPEG-4 which uses software to render the video is a little rougher and is generally only availible on standalone DVRs. MPEG-4 is generally cheaper than a H.264 DVR.
